What to Bring: Food
-
Packed lunch and two snacks (one for morning break and one for afternoon break).
-
We are a NUT-FREE ZONE, so please ensure no food contains nuts.
-
Refillable water bottle to keep your child hydrated throughout the day.
What to Wear: Seasonal Clothing Guide
Forest School is all about outdoor adventures, so children should be dressed for messy play and the changing weather.
☀️ Summer
-
Lightweight, breathable clothing (but no shorts, to protect legs from scrapes and insect bites).
-
A sun hat for protection.
-
Sunscreen applied before arrival (we cannot apply sunscreen to children).
-
A lightweight long-sleeve top to help protect from the sun and insects.
🍂 Spring & Autumn
-
Layers are essential, as mornings can be chilly but afternoons warmer.
-
Waterproof jacket and trousers in case of rain.
-
Sturdy, waterproof shoes or wellies, as the ground can be muddy.
❄️ Winter
Even when it’s not freezing, being outdoors all day can feel chilly. At the same time, children warm up quickly when running around, so layers are key!
-
Thermal base layers (top and leggings).
-
A warm, waterproof coat.
-
Hat, gloves, and a neck warmer or scarf.
-
Thick socks and waterproof boots.
We encourage children to listen to their bodies and adjust their layers independently.
Storage
Children attending for the whole week are welcome to leave their belongings onsite, as we have storage space available.
